Ashbys High Level Float Cage Cut-off – for Enforcer
The Ashbys High Level Float Cage Cut-off is an essential safety component fitted inside the recovery (dirty water) tank of the Ashbys Enforcer. It houses a mechanical float ball that rises with the water level and automatically blocks the vacuum inlet when the tank becomes full, preventing dirty water from being sucked into the vacuum motors.
Protects Enforcer vacuum motors from water damage
If water enters a vacuum motor, it will cause immediate and permanent failure. The float cage prevents this by providing a reliable, mechanical shut-off system. Keeping this assembly in good working order is vital for protecting your Enforcer’s vacuum system.
Compatible vacuum motors (owner must confirm)
Most Enforcers are fitted with one of the following 5.7-inch 3-stage vacuum motors:
Each motor requires one gasket: Ashbys Vacuum Motor Gasket.
Although these motors are fitted to around 90% of Enforcers, it is the owner’s responsibility to confirm which motors are installed. Only replace like-for-like to ensure correct fitment.
Cleaning and maintenance
The float cage should be kept clean to ensure the float ball moves freely. It does not need to be removed for cleaning and is not designed for regular removal. Instead, simply rinse it using the pump-out hose (with the vacuum motors switched off): Ashbys Pump-Out Hose.
Important: Never rinse the cage with the vacuum motors running, as this will immediately pull water into the motors and destroy them.
End-of-job care
At the end of each job, run both vacuum motors for approximately 3 minutes with the recovery tank lid open. This helps remove any remaining moisture from the vacuum system and prolongs motor life.
