How to Replace the Recovery Tank Lid Gasket

Remove the old gasket: Peel away the existing gasket from the lid.

Prime and clean the surface: Use Label Remover 400ml Aerosol to remove all adhesive residue. The surface must be fully cleaned and primed to ensure proper bonding.

Apply super glue: Apply a zig‑zag pattern of super glue (not supplied) around the central adhesion area of the primed lid. This step is essential and works together with the gasket’s self-adhesive backing to create a strong, permanent bond.

Fit the new gasket: Peel back the self‑adhesive backing and carefully apply the gasket to the lid, ensuring even contact all the way around.

Apply downforce and allow to cure: Close the lid, place a folded towel on top, then place a full 5‑litre bottle on the towel. The weight provides steady downward pressure, pushing the gasket firmly onto the bonding surface. Leave for 3 hours to allow the adhesive and super glue to fully cure.
